Finally House Pics!

Sorry it has taken me so long to post some house pictures. Now I am posting a ton of pics! I don't know how to do that cute collage stuff everyone else does so you'll have to just deal with one picture at a time. We had some fun for halloween. We dressed up as a couple: Hugh Heifner and a girl next door:) We had a fun time at a halloween party with friends. We also carved some pumpkins. Anyways, school is going great. I finished clincals and i passed my huge test:) Can't wait for december only a month left!!

P.S. don't judge the house pictures. I haven't had time to make it cute yet:)

Fall!

UPDATE finally! We have been pretty busy around here.... School is busy but good. I'm finishing my last few preceptor shifts at the hospital. It has been a great experience the nurse that i'm with is awesome! After I'm done with my preceptor shifts only 7 more clinicals and I'm done with that:) My classes haven't been too stressful yet, but I think that will change soon.
Bode is busy with work and hunting. Luckily he got his deer on the bow hunt! Good job!

The house is coming along I think we will start to move in within the next week. Crazy! We are super excited though! We bought a lot of cute new house things like a dining table, washer and dryer, blinds, entertainment center and bode's favorite a flat screen tv:)

goodbye summer

No internet makes a very sad Taryn.....and blog. Sorry our internet is broken, so i'll probably be a blog slacker for a while:( It's ok, it is probaby half good for me so maybe i'll concentrate more on homework.... ha ha. Anyways, things are good with us....Bode is gone on a detail, sad but good.... I'm starting school next monday, also sad, but good it is my last first day of school:) That sounds great!! Our house is coming along, last i saw they had the footings poured. We went and picked out the interior stuff, it was really fun and we didn't even fight. Bode was great and liked everything i picked (of coarse i have excellent taste ha ha!) Don't worry i have kept up on picture taking of the house so hopefully sometime i will be able to post all the pics, I'm sure your just dying to see them, ha ha. Besides that we are boring people! We hope everything is going great for everyone!!

DaY 1

We are building a house! After many months of yes...no...maybe....changing our plans....our lot.....losing sleep... and our minds....ha ha, we finally have reached DaY 1! We signed the papers this morning and gave our money away. We are excited for our new adventure, but seriously i could careless about the house, because all i can think about is that i get a puppy in 90 days!! I can't decide which kind of dog i want. Bode says i don't get to pick, because its gonna be a surprise. We narrowed our puppy choices down to 3, so here they are.....

Mini Pinscher

Jack Russell Terrier

Puggle Chihuahua Mix

We (and when i say we i mean me) are leaning towards a jack russell, but Bode will make the final decision, kinda crappy huh? Maybe everyone should help him decide and let us know which dog you think we should get?!

Other things we have been up to.... we went fishing the other week and had some fun here are our pics....

I also got stung by a wasp:( so here is a sad picture of my swollen finger....

Oh and here are some pictures of our dirt.... the future home of Bode, Taryn, and puppy:)

Update...recipes

Ok so I have a few things to post about so i'll break it up a little bit... P.S. SUPER LONG POST!

Update
We are both just working away our summer:( It is going way to fast I can't believe it is halfway through June already! Things have been going good though. Here are a few things we've done lately... we went to my step-brother's wedding last week, helped my brother move into his new house in Toquerville (well Bode did), became a great aunt & uncle again (she is super cute!), and if all goes to plan building a house very soon! I'll have to keep you posted!

Taylor Swift Concert
I went to the Taylor Swift concert with my sister in law and one of their friends. We had like the worst seats in there ha ha, but it was still fun. I think i liked it alittle bit more than i should considering it was definitely directed to a high school audience (sometimes i think i'm suppose to be 17 still and not 22!) She put on a way good show and is super good live. Another really cool thing is that my sister in law won a pink scooter at the concert... very random, but it totally made our night.

(Ignore my super cheese face ha ha)

(There she is way way down there ha ha)

Taste of Home I've had some extra time on my hands, since school is out i don't see my classmates anymore and pretty much all of my friends have moved away (not that i had a whole ton to start out with), I've decided to try to feed Bode some home cooked meals. My grandma has sent me the Taste of Home magazine for quite a while now, so i decided i better put it to good use. I picked a few recipes went to the store and have been cooking ever since ha ha ok not really. Here are the meals I made....

Cheesy Chicken & Broccoli Bake

1 pkg Stove Top stuffing mix Chicken flavor

1-1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts cut in to bit size pieces

1 pkg of frozen broccoli

1 can of cream of chicken soup

8 oz of Velvetta cheese cut into 1/2" cubes

Heat oven to 400F, prepare stuffing mix as directed on pkg and set aside. Combine remaining ingredients; spoon into 13x9 baking dish. Top with stuffing and bake 40 minutes or until chicken is done.

I didn't get a picture of this one, but I thought it was good just another casserole kinda dish but really easy to make, Bode really liked and ate all of the leftovers. This is a remake dish.

German Pork Roast

3 tbs olive oil

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp ground mustard

1 tsp of salt

1/2 tsp oregano, thyme, and rosemary

1/4 tsp pepper

1 boneless whole pork lin roast (3-4 lbs)

4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into wedges

3 medium onions, cut into wedges

1 medium yellow tomato, cut into wedges

In a small bowl, combine oil, garlic, lemon juice, mustard and seasonings, Rub over roast. Place on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Bake uncovered, at 350 for 20 minutes. Add potatoes, onions, and tomato to the pan, bake at 40-70 minutes or until thermometer reads 160 and veggies are done.

I didn't get a pic of this one either, I thought it was good, I didn't like the veggies and i left out 2 onions and the tomato, because me and bode aren't big fans of those. I think next time I'll cook it in the crock pot, i think it will be more tender. Bode really like the flavor of it, he votes that this is a remake dish in the crock pot.

Pork in orange sauce

1 cup uncooked rice

2 tsp cornstarch

1 tsp sugar

1 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp grated orange peel

1 cup orange juice

1 tsp soy sauce

2 celery ribs, chopped

2 medium carrots thinly sliced

1/4 cup lightly salted cashews

1 tbs canola oil

2 cups cubed cooked pork

1/2 cup chow mein noodles

1 green onion, julienned

cook rice according to pkg. Meanwhile in a small bowl, combine cornstarch, sugar, ginger, and orange peel. Stir in orange juice and soy sauce until smooth; set aside. In large skillet, stir fry the celery, carrots, and cashews in oil until veggies are tender and crisp. Stir in cornstarch mixture to pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1 min or until thickened. Add pork; heat through. Serve with rice; top with noodles and onion.

I used the left over pork from the roast, i liked the sauce, but like half way through i decided i didn't like it anymore. Bode liked it but decided that it wasn't a remake dish.
Make once, eat twice lasagna (or eat 4 times in our case)
1 pkg lasagna noodles
3 lbs ground beef
3 jars spagetti sauce
2 eggs beaten
1-1/2 lbs ricotta cheese
6 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese divided
1 tbs dried parsley flakes
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Cook noodles according to pkg. Meanwhile cookd beef over medium heat until brown, then drain. Remove from heat and stir in spagetti sauce. In a large bowl combine eggs, ricotta cheese, 4-1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, parsley, salt, and pepper. Drain noodles. Spread 1 cup meat sauce in 2 greased 13x9 baking dish (we used 4 greased 8x8) Layer each with 3 noodles, 1 cup ricotta mixture, and 1 1/2 cup of meat sauce. Repeat layers twice. Top with parmesan cheese adn remaining mozzarella cheese. Cover and freeze one (or 3 in our case) for up to 3 months. Cover and bake remaining lasagna at 375 for 45 minutes. Uncover; bake 10 minutes longer or until bubbly. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting. To use frozen lasagna. Thaw in fridge overnight. Remove from the fridge 30 minutes before baking. Cover and bake at 375 for 60-70 minutes or until heated through. Uncover; bake 10 minutes longer or until bubbly.

We really like this recipe! It is super good and its nice to have some lasagna in the freeze to have when we are out of food! Definitely a remake though we won't have to for like 3 months!

Well I definitely think I overloaded the blogging world with recipes! If you try any of them, Enjoy!! Thanks again Grandma for the magazine i'm definitley putting it to good use!

Summer Fun

In between working we have found some time to enjoy the great summer weather:) Here are some pics from our adventures....

Bode and I went four wheeling by our house and found a really fun trail, we are gonna have to do some more exploring, it was quite the adventure:)

Our action shot

The view of Enoch?!

Liz and I went hiking in Kanarraville, after we finally found where the trail was ha ha.... the water was like fresh off the glacier, but it was so nice outside, it was way fun!

On another note for all of you one tree hill fans that maybe look at my blog, I'm so upset with the season finale, could it end more lame? Seriously, I think that they should of killed off Peyton, had the baby live, Brooke should of ditched Jullian (who is he anyways he's like brand new to the show and he suppose to end up with Brooke I don't think so ha ha...) and Brooke and Lucus should of gotten married and raise the baby. That would of been the perfect ending. I've always been a Brucas fan though so I'm a little bias:)

Here is my favorite video of Brooke and Lucas.......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dKOAWJ5B2Y

Finally Summer!

School's out for the summer:) Yay!! It turned out to be a really good semester for me:) I got straight A's! Yay!! Bode is already getting busy with work. Hopefully it will be a good summer for him. Well I'll update you alittle bit about what's been going on.... I passed my LPN test and got a job in Parowan at the nursing home. It has been really good so far. It's kinda weird to actually be like a real nurse, but its gonna be a great opportunity for me to get some good experience. This new job means that yes, I finally did it, I quit applebee's. After a long fullfilling career there I had to say goodbye.
We were able to visit with some of Bode's and my family this Easter. Sadly, neither of us placed in the annual egg war.

Me, Bode, and our not very good easter war eggs

Ray, Liz, Kate, and Andrew

Micah turned 1!! He is so cute!

We went to the Kenny Chesney concert and it was so fun!! Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum opened for him!

Kenny!

Bode turned 29! Happy Birthday Babe!!

Heather and TJ moved away:( I will definitely miss you best friend! Good luck you guys!
